PLAYOFFS GAME 2 vs. The Avalanche
What a wild game!

The Av’s started the scoring on their first shift with a goal from Ryan Holly, they followed it up by taking a 2 goal lead with a goal form Brady K. It was the wake up call that the Sharks team needed to get into the game. Unfortunately Sawyer got a little too fired up and took a body checking penalty when he threw himself at  Harrison to stop a breakaway.  (Both needed a little help up after the hit and both seem to be doing ok after the game) The Sharks successfully killed the penalty and Max tied the game up in the first minute of the second. That would be the only goal scored in the 2nd period as both teams goalies stood on their heads. Max delivered the lead to the Sharks at the beginning of the 3rd which was answered by Harrison 2 minutes later. At the 10 minute mark Tanner sent a pass to Lydia  who was camped out in front of the Av’s net. She didn’t hesitate to pound it home and re-gain the lead for the Sharks. The lead would only last for about a minute as Harrison scored his second of the game to tie it up. Ryan Heath scored with 4 and a half left in the 3rd to take the lead. The lead would be padded when Harrison scored his 3rd at the 3 minute mark. The Sharks had to find a way to get back in the game so they sent out Logan, Max and Carson to go hunting for a couple late goals. Logan found one at 2:27 on a pass from Carson. The Sharks tried a last ditch effort by pulling the goalie with 40 seconds to go, but it didn’t work out. The end score was 6-5.

I was really impressed with our whole defensive corps again today, positional; they were really good, we just have to get a little more aggressive in front of our net. We did a lot better job this week holding the offensive zone as well. Way to go Gabe, Colin, Bryson and Sawyer. A special mention needs to go to Williem (our goalie) for turning away 31 shots today, several of them being breakaways. The entire coaching staff had a hard time picking our hardest workers because everyone did so well, but in the end the shark teeth went to Zach on forward and Gabe on defence. Way to go guys.

Next week we play the Rangers and we will have Kalib back from his sabbatical, I can’t wait.

Until then, See you at the Rink,
