Leafs Lose Close One to Avs
The Leafs lost a very close game to the Av's today in the final game of the regular season.
Down by two goals early in the first the Leafs took control of the game. Sawyer scored a nice goal with 30 seconds left in the first period making it 2-1 Av's going into the second period. George potted a goal on a nice set up from Mitchell. Tyler then scored for the Leafs, and assisted on a goal by Mitchell a minute later. Going into the third period it was 4-3 Leafs. Sawyer picked up his second goal of the game a couple of minutes into the third period on a good pass from Gavin. Up 5-3 the Leafs were feeling good and excited about today's game. The Av's had other ideas. They scored four unanswered goals in the third period and ended up winning 7-5. The Game MVP for the Leafs went to Carter for his hard work and good play on defence all game.
