The Playoffs..Part Deux (that means two.. I think):
It appears the word is out, all 17 players were in the dressing room again (2 weeks in a row now)

I think they were awaiting the next Chapter to the legendary symphonies produced by Coach Bryan. This week did not disappoint. Like the Main course to the appetizer, this week’s pregame speech was like trying to take a drink of water from a fire hydrant.

Last week Coach Bryan’s goal was to motivate, this week it was to prepare for a battle. The tactical blueprints drawn up by Coach Bryan made Brock, Grant, Bonaparte and even Alexander the Great look like amateurs. I was so enriched by the moment that I have decided to nominate Mr. Bryan Depensier for the Nobel Peace Prize… That was until I witnessed JP Lucier up the ante with his foundation shaking pregame cheer. This man truly has missed his calling as a professional team mascot. The thunderous cheers from the Sharks Dressing room were enough to stop global warming (I think), I also heard that the sheer noise from the event caused widespread concern in some Asian countries… and Guam.

With the pregame ceremonies behind them, The Sharks took the ice to play a very prepared Penguins team. The first line of Zach, Jacob and Colin took advantage of their outstanding team play and scored the first goal only 1 minute into the game. The Penguins would tie it up when Max “the human highlight reel” Reaume scored on an individual effort by weaving around the entire Sharks team and tucking the puck behind Brady. The game was back and forth, positions were played to precision, the Penguins would break the tie at the 9 minute mark of the 2nd on a goal from Liam Lenover, assisted by Aiden Davidson. Again, defense seemed to be the soup du jour (that means soup of the day.. I think..) as both teams were keeping scoring chances at a minimum. Max Lucier would get the Sharks back into the game with an unassisted marker at 5:18 of the 3rd. The game ended in a 2-2 tie. The coaches from both benches, feel this was the best game both teams have played all season.

While the 2-2 score wasn’t enough to get the Penguins past the Sharks, I personally pity the team that has to play this technically sound and offensively strong Penguins team in the next round.

Our next game is at 2:15 vs a Canadiens team that just upset the Avalanche. I expect everyone (who isn’t going away on some sunny fun filled vacation..you know who you are…) to be in their places ready to rock. Until then…

See ya at the Rink,

Coach Scott (I think)
