ROCK N ROLL CUP CHAMPIONS
The Cobras travelled to Cleveland on the weekend and brought home the Rock N Roll Cup.
The boys looked tired after the long drive before the first game and suffered their only loss of the tournament 4-3 against the Top Dog Bulldogs. Scoring for the Cobras was Curtis DeVos, Matt Stephenson and Brilee Gebal. Assists going to Cam Duquette and Stephenson.
Game 2 saw the Cobras face a very physical Midwest Blackbirds team but they battled their way to a 4-1 win.
Goals by Dylan Holly, Sam George, Jordan Dixon and Gebal. Assists by Devon Doucet, DeVos and Stephenson.
Cam Lynds was the winning goalie.
Game 3 the boys really found their stride beating the Kent Cyclones 7-0. Duquette and Doucet had two goals each with singles by Ethan Denure, Ryan Kelly and Holly. Assists by Brayden Bright(2), Stephenson(2), Julien Verleye, DeVos, Dixon, Denure and Holly. Jarrod Carr had the shutout.
Game 4 was another strong game for the Cobras winning 8-1 over the Geauga Maple Leafs. Leading the way for the Cobras was Denure with a hat trick, Stephenson with two goals, Doucet, DeVos and Gebal added singles.
Assists to Stephenson(2), Doucet(2), Duquette, Bright and Holly.
The 3-1 round robin record put the Cobras into the final against the Top Dog Bulldogs. The boys showed up to the rink with something to prove, winning the Championship game 3-0. Scoring was Gebal, Denure and Holly.
Assists to Will Brodie, DeVos, Duquette and Kelly. Jarrod Carr had the shutout.
Ethan Denure was named the tournament MVP.
