Dodge Caravan Novice Leafs had a surprise guest show up on Tuesday's practice.  It was a fun-filled practice and the kids got to spend some quality time with one of Chatham's local superstars!

Tuesday Dec.2 was an eventful day for the Leafs as Todd Warriner surprised everyone with a special appearance.  Both parents and players were excited and hyped to see Todd lace up his skates, put on his Toronto Maple Leafs Helmet and jump onto the ice with the kids.  The players had a good practice as Todd spent some one on one time with each player and concluded the practice with a game of "cops & robbers".  Todd had his hands full as he was pursued by 13 kids.....I think they were after his Maple Leafs helmet...lol!

It was practice as usual, but this was the best practice according to all of the players.  Todd spent many seasons in the NHL playing for a variety of teams (Vancouver Canucks, Phoenix Coyotes, Tampa Bay Lightning, Philadelphia Flyers and Nashville Predators)  But most of his successful career was spent with the Toronto Maple Leafs (6 seasons).  Before Todd made his appearance, I announced to the kids in the change room that a former NHL star hockey player was coming to today's practice.  And with excitement in his voice, Aiden jumps up and says "Is it Lupul?"  It was a good chuckle for everyone but told Aiden that Lupul was busy in Toronto playing a game.  Todd got a good laugh too but after the practice, Lupul was forgotten as the kids and parents lined up for photos and autographs from Todd Warriner.  Each player received an autographed photo of Todd as a Toronto Maple Leaf.  It truly was a nice treat for everyone, especially the kids.

From the Coaches, the Parents and the Players, we all would like to extend a Special Thank You to Todd Warriner for coming out and making this day a special day for everyone and spending time with the players.
