Tazmanian Devils
Saturday brought out the whirlwind in the Leafs as they all played exceptionally well with a close game against the Flyers.
It was a back and forth affair between the Leafs and Flyers at the Erickson, but the Flyers came out on top with the victory.
The Flyers scored just 9 seconds into the game and the Leafs held on to end the period 1-0 in favor of the Flyers. Jonny Jet Pack opened up the scoring in the second with 1:31 on the clock, assisted by Princess and Jordy. He then added his second goal, assisted by Action Jackson and Hemi, just 2:23 later to edge the Leafs 2-1 past the Flyers. The Flyers tallied back with 2 goals of their own to regain the lead 3-2 and then with a sweet snipe, Action Jackson blew one by the goalie with a smooth feed from Jonny Jet Pack. The period ended in a 3-3 tie but that period belonged to the Flyers goalie as he stood on his head with some really good saves. The Leafs definitely had their opportunities but fell short to capitalize.
The Flyers wasted no time with scoring 10 seconds into the third period, which turned out to be the only goal to edge the Flyers 4-3 past the Leafs.
Awesome job to all the Leafs for a tremendous effort but due to some unfortunate bounces, they fell short of a game victory but definitely won on a team effort.
McGilla Gorilla was a monster in net. With only his second appearance in net, he held the Leafs in the game and gave them lots of opportunities to come back. He is now the Leafs full time goalie and he is improving every time he steps onto the ice. G-G-G-Great job Gorilla!
ChloChlo joined the team for her first game and she was anything but shy. She alternated both on defense and offense and excelled at both. But it was determined that she prefers the D role. Watch out for this little firecracker as she defends the blue line. Way to go ChloChlo!
Rocket lived up to his name this game as he was a huge factor on the blue line. Stopping the oppositions rushes by diving, slapping the puck away and holding the line repeatedly. He was definitely ready for blast off! Great work!
Ken-Man also did his part on the blue line, stopping the puck and shooting back into the offensive zone, looking for that elusive assist. Great job Ken Man, keep it up and those assists will come naturally!
Crash skated extremely well this game as he skated past his opponents and drove to the net with lots of opportunities. He also got an assist. Way to light up the ice! Awesome drive!
Jackster is improving well on the blue line, when the puck became elusive, he drove back hard and spoiled a few scoring opportunities for the other team. Keep that ambition strong....good job!
The Recruit had his first taste as a forward and boy, was he hungry. He played aggressive on the puck and never let up. Nice job, keep it up!
Action Jackson is improving every game as he scored a goal and got an assist. Sweet moves, keep those feet moving!
Hemi is getting faster and faster each game. She flew past her opponents and had some good scoring chances. She also had an assist. Keep that Hemi revved up and the pedal to the metal. Way to go Hemi!
Jonny Jet Pack finding the back of the net is what he does best. 2 goals and an assist with lots of opportunities to help out his line as he threw some sweet passes to his teammates in front of the net. Great job, better team spirit!
Princess doing her part on offense and defense. Stopping some key drives and digging the puck out of a crowd to help her teammates. She also got an assist. Good effort!
