Game 10 vs. AtoMc Blue
The game was a lot closer than the score would have you believe!

The Redwings opened the game with a strong shift that started with the Blue team hemming us in our zone and slowly we were able to push the action to center ice and then into their zone. The entire first period was like that, back and forth.

The second period featured Williem who would go on to have his biggest game of the season. He would end up with 3 goals and an assist, one of those goals came at 9:54 of period 2. He would give us a 2-0 lead off of the next face off. Team Blue then tightened the game right up and scored 3 unanswered goals to finish the 2nd period with a 3-2 lead.

Hunter was able to tie the score up at 12:36 of #3 and assisted on Williem's 3rd goal of the game 18 seconds later. Gordon assisted on both of those goals as well. Christian would go on to give us an insurance marker with an assist from Lydia. Hunter added to the lead with 2:40 to go on a goal set up by Cam. Cam assisted again when he passed the puck to Williem who then turned it to Christian who fired a shot that was partially blocked but somehow had enough momentum to slide over the goal line.

While all of the scoring was great to see it was the play away from the puck that made this win possible, our defence, goaltending and defensive forwards left everything on the ice to keep the Blue team's potent offense away from our net. Zach Thompson's defensive awareness as a center enabled him to pick up slack and dive in front of shots and passes and skate hard both ways. He stood out to the coaches and we decided to reward him with the gold jersey, with that said we could have handed out multiple gold jerseys today as the entire team played outstanding.

Our next game is vs the Flyers at (OMG) 8 am again next Saturday. Until then....

See ya at the rink,

Coach Scott
