Games 10 & 11.
This weekend, the AE2 cobras played Tecumseh Eagles 1 and the Riverside Rangers.

This weekend started with a home game against Tecumseh at Thames campus. From the get go, the AE2 cobras came out a bit flat and as a result, Tecumseh jumped out to an early lead. The cobras, as they have done many times this year, began to dig deep and started to turn the game around. More and more, the tide was turning and we were finding more and more opportunities to score. We certainly have to give credit to the Tecumseh goalie who stood on his head during the 3rd period. The game ended in 5-2 loss.

The Sunday game began the same way it did against Tecumseh; we came out flat. Within the first 6 minutes of the game we were already down 3 – 0. After the first period, the kids decided enough was enough. They committed to working as hard as they could and started the second period putting lots of pressure on Riverside. By the end of the second period, the score was 4-3 for Riverside. Third period began and that is when it happened! The Cobra’s went into an all-out beast mode and were all over the Rangers. With less than 5 minutes left, we tied the game. We continued to keep the pressure on the Rangers. With less than a minute left in the game, and the cobras pressing, Brayden made a great pass to Ashton, who broke in and made a great pass to Noah. With less than a minute left, Noah one timed the puck into the net to take a 6-5 lead, and eventually a win for the Cobra's.

The last game against the Rangers was one of the most energetic and character building games of the season for the Cobra’s. These kids dug deep and managed to turn a very slow start into a huge win for us.  The goalies stood on their heads for us, defence played fantastic and the forwards created lots of scoring chances and came back to help the defence.
The coaches and I are extremely proud of the cobra’s and the determination they showed in this game.
Way to go cobra’s!!!

Coach Anthony

Player of the game.

Saturday October 18 – Kayden Lovell. (Awesome offensive game, as a defenceman. Lots of great rushes.)

Sunday October 19 – Isaac Cook. (Isaac stood tall for us in the defensive and offensive zone. Isaac clearly became a stud defenceman this game!)
