Games 19, 20, 21, 22 & two exhibitions
Games played during this timeframe include;
Tecumseh 2, Kent AE1, Strathroy Rockets, Windsor Jr. Spits, St. Thomas Stars and Belle River 1.

Sorry for the delay in getting these updated.
Over the last 2 weeks, we have played quite a few games. 2 weeks ago we played a great game against Tecumseh 2, then played a nail biter against AE1. This weekend, we played an exhibition against the Strathroy Rockets, then we travelled to Windsor to play the Jr. Spitfires followed by a double header against St. Thomas and Belle River 1.
Overall, I really think we played well and with a lot less mistakes. We also noted some break through performances as the result from continuous hard work.

Game Notes:
Noah Coatsworth played well over the last 2 weeks. He earned a nice shutout against Strathroy, and also played very well against St. Thomas. Noah is improving his movement within the net and is making big saves more and more. One of the notable saves this weekend came on a penalty shot against St. Thomas. Noah stood strong in the net and made a great save while not allowing St. Thomas to jump out to a big lead. Nice work Noah.
Kayden Fraseh Fraser also split time with Noah. Kayden played very well as well and made some huge saves in an intense game against Windsor and a strong game against Belle River. Fraseh has an ability to make himself very large in that net and takes away a lot of the openings. Kayden was peppered against Windsor and made huge saves. He has some 3 on 0’s in which he still kept the puck out of the net. Way to go Mr. Fraseh. Kayden has made some tremendous development over the course of this year!
Bradley Oicks Oickle came up big in certain parts of the game for us. Most notably, against Belle River Oicks was the last man back and stopped quite a few rushes. Oicks gives his 100% each game and will continue to develop. During our exhibition against Strathroy, Oicks played the 3rd period as a forward, and as luck would have it, found a pass right in front of the net. Oicks moved the puck to the side and buried his first goal of the season! Way to go Oicks.
Memphis Peatson played the first few games as a forward then moved back to defence. This weekend we noticed break through performances by Memphis. Memphis has begun to rush the puck and had some great end to end rushes. On one of the end to end rushes, Memphis brought the puck in, went around the defenders and scored a beauty 5 hole goal for his first of the season. Memphis is begging to use his smooth skating to his advantage and is moving the puck well. Way to go Memphis.
Reese Church stayed consistent and played at max speed all weekend. We also decided to try playing Churchy on defence. Churchy did not disappoint. Churchy played his position well, he was fast and moved the puck well. Churchy established himself as one of the hardest working players on the team and found a little defensive chemistry with Oicks. Looks for Churchy to dominate on defence!!! Way to go Churchy.
Isaac Cook made a move from defence to forward this weekend. Over the course of the last few weeks Isaac has shown more and more of an ability to rush and move the puck. Isaac is stronger on the puck now and skating hard when he gets it. In our exhibition game against Strathroy, we saw an opportunity to have Isaac play forward. Isaac also played some forward for the first period of the St. Thomas game. In 3 shifts Isaac had 2 shots on net and a great rush that resulted in a nice goal!!! To cap it off, Isaac had some family members in the crowd for that game. Way to go Isaac.
Jayden Baylis also played very well all weekend. Jayden is very aggressive and gives you his all each time on the ice. Jayden also made a move to forward this weekend and did not disappoint. Jayden played in his forward role well and did a good job at being in his position in the defensive end. Jayden also moved the puck a little more than usual. With a little more time, Jayden will be as dominant on forward as his is on defence! Way to go Monster!
Gregory Ansell has played some of his best hockey over the last 2 weeks. Gregory is becoming more and more reliable. Gregory is moving the puck well and using the boards in the defensive end. Some encouraging and notable improvement with Gregory is that he is more aware of where the forwards are in the defensive end. In addition, Gregory has worked hard to ensure that he is keeping the puck in the offensive zone and not allowing the puck to get by him on the blue line. Gregory has really impressed the coaches as of late. Way to go Gregory!
Kayden Lovell missed a few games this weekend, but when he was there, he dominated on defence. Kayden is fast and has great hockey sense. Kayden moves the puck very well and scored another few goals this weekend. Kayden may be one of, if not, the most offensively gifted defenceman in the league! Way to go K-Mart.
Noah Wilson really stepped it up this weekend. Noah always had the speed, but needed to work on being more aggressive. This weekend, we saw Noah skate very hard and create many scoring chances all while being aggressive on the puck. Noah scored a beauty goal against St. Thomas that came as a result of an all-out skate with the puck. Noah rushed the puck down the side of the ice and roofed the puck over the shoulder of the St. Thomas goalie. Keep working hard Noah. Way to go buddy!
Connor Graham continues to have great hands. With Connor, the focus is on getting him to move his feet more. That being said, in our game against St. Thomas, Connor put on his best effort of the season. Connor was fast! Faster than I have ever seen him skate before. He was moving his feet and creating pure chaos in the offensive zone. The defence on that team had a hard time getting the puck out because Connor was all over them. If this is something Connor can continue to do on a regular basis, Connor will be a dominant forward. Great effort Connor.
Dakota Marchand Also worked very hard. Dakota found herself on a line with Sean and Noah. Dakota also made some improvement and most notably, carried the puck a lot more. Dakota is becoming more confident and it shows. Dakota is also becoming stronger at being in her position and puts herself in position to score goals. On one play, Dakota received a nice pass from Noah just past the blueline and Dakota shot a rocket at the St. Thomas goalie. Way to go Dakota.
Brayden Dehaas played like the “Hoss” all weekend. The last 2 weeks saw a noticeable improvement in Brayden’s puck moving ability. Brayden worked so hard both on offense and defence and created many scoring chances just through effort alone. On one of those chances, Brayden broke free and fired a rocket by the Strathroy goalie. BAR DOWN! Way to go Kessel!!!
Ashton Lovell missed a few games this weekend as well, but when he was on the ice, he was dominant. Ashton played on a different line on Sunday against Belle River and did a fantastic job at moving the puck. Ashton, also managed to score a few goals in his return and did a great job at back checking. Way to go Dangles!
Sean Mallette played hard all weekend, as he normally does. This weekend though, Sean was rewarded with quite a few goals. Sean is tough around the net and really does a super job at cashing in on rebounds. Sean has a pretty well rounded game. He is strong on the puck, skates hard and back checks. Way to go Rocky!
Mitchell Loveday missed a few games but made a big difference when he was on the ice. Mitchell also scored a few nice goals this weekend and really put in a solid effort at skating hard with the puck. Notably, Mitchell is working hard on back checking and has a great ability to get in front of shots and passes. With hard work, Mitchell will be a well-rounded and gifted hockey player! Nice work Mitchell!

Overall, the kids played very well. As I have mentioned before, one of our areas of opportunities involve starting the game at a faster and more intense pace. I think that last few games have shown us that we are certainly capable of getting out of the gate much stronger and faster. I believe that we played one of our better games this weekend against a strong Windsor team. The kids worked hard all game and kept the score tied into the second period.
Keep up the great work everyone!!!
