Cobras Stay Alive
The Major Peewee Cobras followed up a heart-breaker loss Saturday with a victory on Sunday to fight off elimination from OMHA playdowns.  The series now stands Belle River 4 pts. and Kent 2 pts.

On Saturday at Thames Campus the Cobras erased a 2-0 deficit in the 3rd period with two unassisted goals by Ian Campbell and Martin Boughner.  The crowd thought the game was destined for OT but with only 12 ticks left on the clock the Canadiens snapped home the winning goal. The team was now down 4 pts - 0 pts. in the series.

With backs against the wall the Cobras went into Belle River on Sunday and grabbed 2 pts. with a 4-2 win.  Adam Ross started the Kent scoring on a pass from Liam Johnston knotting the score at 1-1.  Jeffrey Carey took the lead with a powerplay goal set up perfectly by Martin Boughner and Notah Hopkins.  The stubborn Canadiens came back and tied the score early in the third period.  Adam Ross' second goal of the game (on the powerplay again) put the Cobras back in the lead 3-2.  The goal came on a perfect backhand cross-crease pass from Ian Campbell with supplementary assist going to Aidan Fitzmorris.  Cole Tetreault put the game away with an empty net goal with 39 seconds left.

Game 4 will be played on Friday February 5th at 7pm at Memorial Arena in Chatham.
