The Kent Minor Bantam Cobras fell to the hands of the Tecumseh Eagles this past weekend at the Bluewater Day of Champions in Belle River 5-3.
The team had a strong start to the match when Notah Hopkins scored on the first shift of the game. Zach McKinlay-Hultgren would build the lead soon after to 2-0 by banging in a rebound shot in front of the Eagles netminder. Some penalty trouble in the 2nd period allowed Tecumseh to draw even and take the lead with a pair of PP goals. The Cobras would reduce the lead to 4-3 on a goal from Martin Boughner with about 6 mins to play. Unfortunately, the Eagles would add a late goal with Connor O’Donohue pulled to the bench. The game and season would conclude with a 5-3 defeat. Congratulations Tecumseh!
I would like to thank all families for their dedication and commitment to the Cobras this season. Best wishes go out to each of the players; I hope they find fulfillment in whatever hockey pathway they follow.
Enjoy the summer.
Kind Regards
Coach Tom
