Tryouts begin on May 22, 2018
In an effort to provide parents and players with some clarity prior to tryouts, I want to provide you with how I will be evaluating players in this year’s tryouts.
For evaluation:
Skating - This one is very important. I will be looking for quickness, strength of stride, technique and speed
Passing - Looking at your passing technique, control and vision, along with willingness to move the puck
Puck Control - How you handle the puck in open ice, and tight spaces
Shooting - Technique, accuracy, and speed
Leadership and Team play - I am looking for the players that continuously work hard, play as part of a team/unit, are very positive and encouraging, and those who make the other players around them even better
Overall, and above all else, effort will be key. Come prepared to work hard, and to give it your best effort.
