Cobras Start OMHA’s With Two Victories
The Major Peewees captured the first 4 points of the 6 point series with the Windsor Spitfires over the weekend.  The boys put together two quality team performances.   Tenacious forechecking pressure, individual d-zone responsibility, speed utilization, disciplined puck battles and quality goaltending made the difference.

On Saturday at Thames Campus the teams battled to a 2-2 tie after two periods.  In the third period the Cobras applied great offensive zone pressure and netted 3 unanswered goals and a 5-2 win.  Connor O’Donohue stood tall in net denying all Spitfire chances in the last frame.  It may be the first game all year with zero penalty minutes.  Impressive discipline boys!  Team scoring came from Jeffrey Carey G(2) A(1), Martin Boughner A(2), Notah Hopkins G(1), Ethan Labadie G(1), Ian Campbell G(1), Aidan Fitzmorris A(1), Adam Ross A(1), and Cole Tetreault A(1).

On the road Sunday, the Cobras lead by Connor O’Donohue were able to shut down the entire Spitfire offense with a 3-0 shutout victory.  Cobra scoring came from Martin Boughner G(1) A(1), Quinn Shoemaker A(2), Adam Ross G(1), Jeffrey Carey G(1), and Ian Campbell A(1).  It was an impressive showing of individual effort and sacrifice that brought forth a quality team win.

There is no time for complacency - game 3 is Saturday 2 pm at Thames Campus.  See you at the rink.
