The Major Novice AA Kent Cobras second 3,000 shot challenge comes to a close this Friday night (December 15). Players that have taken 3,000 shots off-ice since September 1 will earn the right to a glorious prize!
The first 3,000 shot challenge happened over the summer with all players, including goaltenders, achieving the goal and being awarded prizes! Players were encouraged to shoot off-ice with gloves on and encouraged to practice wrist, snap and backhand shots.
The 3,000 shot challenges have been successful to date. "There was a noticeable difference in skill level after the summer challenge - shots were harder and more accurate - and skills have continued to increase through the fall" said Coach Shawn Mather. "Ultimately, we are seeing off-ice commitment result in better on ice performance" commented Coach Mather.
Congratulations Major Novice AA Cobras!
