With Tuesday's tryouts fast approaching, I would like to welcome eligible players to the Novice AE tryouts. I look forward to seeing the talents, skills, effort, and abilities that are brought to the rink by the players.
To ensure that all players have a good start without any problems, please double-check that everything is packed and ready to hit the ice. All players must wear a mouth guard and all other required equipment. All players who participated in the Novice AA tryouts are asked to bring the jerseys that they were given. Any 2009-born players who did not tryout for the AA team are asked to please send me an email or contact KMHA to make sure that you are able to attend the AE tryouts first. All 2010-born players that do not already have a tryout jersey will be given one before the start of Tuesday's ice time.
The tryout process is as follows:
Players are given a minimum of two skates. After the second ice time, I will have a list posted on the team site with the players names that will be continuing the tryout process. I will have this posted on May 24th at the latest. My plan is to have the first tryout focus on individual skating, puck handling, and shooting drills. There will be some competitive drills mixed in as well. The second tryout be a full scrimmage to look at the players in a game setting. The third will be more of the same, with the final tryout being an exhibition game against Essex.
I hope to see everyone focused, attentive and trying their best while on the ice as well as off the ice.
