Kent Minor Hockey is still accepting coaching applications for the 2026–2027 season for the U8MD Division. Application period is February 4th-11th.
Coaching interviews will begin shortly after the application deadline. Please note that
not all applicants will be guaranteed an interview, as selections will be based on the needs of the association and the overall strength of applications received.

What Kent Minor Hockey Looks for in Coaches
Kent Minor Hockey is committed to providing a positive, safe, and development-focused environment for all players. When reviewing applications, the association will consider candidates who demonstrate:
- Strong communication skills with players, parents, and coaching staff
- A commitment to player development, skill progression, and fair play
- Positive leadership and role modeling on and off the ice
- Knowledge of age-appropriate coaching and Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD)
- Ability to work within Hockey Canada and OMHA guidelines
- A team-first approach that aligns with the values and expectations of Kent Minor Hockey
- A strong understanding of the Hockey Canada Player Development Pathway
Hockey Canada Player Pathways
All coaches are expected to be familiar with Hockey Canada’s player pathways, which outline age-appropriate development standards and long-term athlete development principles.
