Registration Information (Kent Minor Hockey Association)

PrintRegistration Information

Kent Minor Hockey Association is planning to return to the ice during the first week of October under the Stage 3B procedures provided by the OHF.  As you are aware, this season will look much different than what we are accustomed to.  Stage 3B allows for group training and very modified game play (3-on-3 or 4-on-4) with no physical contact and strict on-ice physical distancing.

Travel for any type of play is limited to the Local Public Health Unit (Chatham-Kent), therefore, currently there will be no travel hockey as we know it and no tryouts.

Leagues/cohorts/bubbles will be restricted to 50 participants.

Local league and house league players will play together and will be placed with like-skill groups, teams will consist of 9 skaters and 1 goalie.

The season will be broken in two sessions: Oct. 1 till Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 till March 31.

The first two weeks of the Oct 1-Dec 31 session will be strictly skills training with a focus on development for all age groups.

Registration fees are based on the best information we have at this time. The uncertainty of available ice and the number of registrations will greatly affect our costs.  The initial cost of registration will be $375. This fee will include the annual insurance fee and administration cost for each child payable to the OMHA.  The program will include two (2) ice times per week for each child.

Members must be aware that players will be required to complete a COVID-19 document and submit to a temperature test prior to going on the ice each and every time. If your child develops any symptoms of COVID-19, they will be required to stay off the ice for a period of at least 14 days. No refunds will be issued for this time away from the ice.

Our commitment will be to the safety of our players and staff while enjoying all the benefits hockey provides.  The safety of our players and staff will be of utmost concern.
