Meet the Coach

U16A Cobras |

I was born and raised in Chatham, I began my coaching career at the age of 19 with the Chatham Kent Cyclones AAA Midget program. After a few years of coaching in the AAA program, I moved over to KMHA where I coached at the Travel and House league levels.
I moved up to the Junior C PJHL program with the Wallaceburg Lakers. Shortly after, I joined the coaching staff with my home town, Chatham Maroons Junior B, where I spent two seasons coaching with Ron Horvat. After a few years away, I rejoined the Chatham Maroons coaching beside Tyler Roeszler, where we won the Western Conference Championship. The following year, I was promoted to Associate Coach for the Chatham Maroons.
For the 2024-2025 season, I was the Head Coach for the U16A, where my coaching staff and I lead them to the OHMA’s semi finals.
I take pride in motivating, mentoring and developing the players both on and off the ice to prepare them for the next level in their hockey journey. My coaching philosophy is to not only build their character and resilience on the ice, but to also learn how to apply that in real life.
I am committed to creating a positive environment for the players where they can develop their skills and build a strong bond together.
My coaching staff and I will focus on constructive communication, encouragement, and support to enhance players’ skills, confidence, and overall well-being. I have added Braeden Nicholson, who has Junior C experience, as a video/player development coach to my coaching staff. I believe in the benefits of video analysis to develop individual skills, gain new perspectives, improve game plans, build team unity and overall better performance. The coaching staff will also focus on fostering a positive team culture, emphasizing effort and improvement, rather than just outcomes. I believe this approach will aim to develop not only better athletes, but also resilient individuals with a passion for hockey.
Team core values for 2025-2026 season will be:
Growth, Grit & Family
