Agriculture is a prominent part of Kent County and the surrounding area. Bob Devolder has been involved in farming his entire life, following in past generations of family farming. Recognizing the needs of other farmers in the area, Bob and Diane Devolder established Devolder Farms Seeds in 1988. In 1974, Bob Devolder acquired and has maintained his pedigreed seed grower status. Since then, Devolder Farms has continued to grow, process, and package quality pedigreed seed, along with retail sales of Dekalb brand soybeans and corn. Devolder Farms has been a registered company with the International Standards Organization since 2005. Being ISO 9001:2008 certified demonstrates Devolder Farms’ ability to achieve consistent quality goods and services. Devolder Farms follows specific procedures for processing pedigreed seed to ensure pure and high quality seed for you. These standards are regulated under the ISO Quality Management System and the Canadian Seed Institute Quality Management System Scope. In more recent years, Bob’s primary focus for his farming operation has shifted towards becoming what he likes to call a foundation farm. In addition to growing the higher pedigreed seed in their fields, Devolder Farms also grows experimental varieties and maintains select plots.
