Checking in to Pre Skates and Tryouts
Submitted By Martin Steele on Sunday, September 26, 2021
Effective Thursday September 30, 2021 - To all Players, volunteers, and Parents:
after reviewing the OMHA vaccine policy, KMHA board has come up with the following. This does not affect players born 2010 and younger at this point. This only affects 2009 age and older, so U13-U21. This does not affect spectators. Full vaccination deadline is October 31, so you have less than 2 months to be vaccinated or players to be vaccinated.

Acceptable Documentation serving as evidence of COVID-19 vaccination include:

• A digital or physical Dose Administration Receipt.

• Medical records signed by a licensed health care provider indicating vaccine name and date(s) of administration.

• Government verification/language (e.g. Government issued vaccine passport or card)

No players can be rostered if they are not being fully vaccinated(which includes the 14 days after the Vaccination) unless they provide OMHA approved accommodation proof this MUST be approved by OMHA by October 31.

All coaches, on ice helpers, trainers and anyone directly involved with the team must be vaccinated for ALL age groups or provide documentation that shows you do not need vaccination or cannot have vaccination.  This MUST be submitted to OMHA for approval prior to October 31.

If a player/coach receives vaccination after October 31, they must wait 14 days after the final vaccine to participate.

Any Affected Person who is granted accommodation must undergo regular COVID-19 testing and must provide evidence to KMHA, as applicable, of a negative test taken not more than 72 hours prior to each Sanctioned Activity.

How is KMHA checking this and tracking this?

The board will be present at your AE tryouts, HL and LL first pre-skates or on ice sessions and will have tracking sheets for each age group that requires vaccination.  We will track all players and coaches and on ice helpers if they are fully vaccinated or partially. If the player is NOT planning on getting vaccinated then they can not participate unless other documentation is presented.  For the AA teams already selected, the board will attend practice evenings and track from each age group affected.

If you have your proof of Vaccinations please bring it with you to get checked in.

More information will be provided as it becomes available, any questions please email: [email protected]
