The AGM is meant not only to conduct the business affairs of our association, but an opportunity to thank our volunteers, staff and our sponsors that make it possible to provide excellent programming to our young hockey stars.
Our 2024-2025 season was again a very successful year in the wins and loss categories. Three of our teams represented the BlueWater League at the OMHA Championships. The U14A Cobra team competed at the OMHA finals, a remarkable achievement.
The mission statement of our organization is to promote by developing, encouraging, and maximizing opportunities for all players and volunteers to help prepare our youth for the "next game" and to learn fair play, sportsmanship, team work, good fellowship and community spirit.
The award portion of the evening represented the best in all our Divisions: House League, Local League and Travel.

The Travel player of the year: Liam Hildebrand
The Travel coach of the year: Matt Goodburn
The Travel Manager of the year: Jamie Edwards
The Bill Garden Award is presented annually to the Executive Board member of the year that exemplifies dedication, leadership, and unwavering service to our hockey community. Shannan Bishop, who currently serves as Secretary to the Board was the recipient of this prestigious award.
Years of Service awards were presented to a number of volunteers from 5 years of service to 35 years of service.
Elections were held for three Executive Board position, and the following individuals were elected:
VP of Travel: Cayle Sparks
VP of Operations: Mike Girard
Director of Travel: Ryan Hope
Treasurer: Jim King
The Executive Board wishes to thank Rex Graham (previous VP of Operations ) and Scott Roberts (previous VP of Travel) for their countless years of dedication and service to Kent Minor Hockey. We wish them all the best in their future endeavours.
In order to meet our statutory requirement the Treasures report was presented to the membership. ABFK, Chartered Professional Accounts presented a report indicating that based on their review nothing causes any financial concerns and the financial position of KMHA represents fairly, in all material respects the financial position as of March 31, 2025 are in accordance with Canadian accounting standards for a not-for-profit organization.
The newly elected Executive Board will meet on June 5, 2025 and continue to provide leadership and guidance to our minor hockey family. This coming season will again provide new challenges to our organization.
Issues such as training for coaches and players, compensation to staff and volunteers, open boundaries, coaching selection process, evaluation of initiatives both technically and financially,equipment purchases, succession planning, recruitment of volunteers, meeting the equipment and ice resources coaches require.
