Congratulations to ALL First Shift
participants! I could not be more proud of every player!! I hope that kids and parents alike will move on from the First Shift and
continue to love hockey - like we all do - for many, many years to
come!
Thirty-eight local boys and girls wrapped up the program on Monday, March 2 by playing in their first scrimmage game. It was an action packed affair with lots of end to end play!! A good time was had by all! (Check out our team picture... click >>)
Team First Shift
A special thank you to all of the volunteers who contributed their valuable time to make this program a success. In particular, Derek Fitzmorris who was the program Administrator and also an On-ice Instructor. Derek spent countless hours organizing, promoting, planning and following up to ensure that the program was successful.
I'd also like to thank the On-ice Instructors who did an excellent job working with the kids. In particular, I'd like to thank Tom Peel and Don Martin for the leadership roles they took on. Special thanks to the on-ice team consisting of Rob Basso, Jason Bright, Ron Coristine, Jim King, Darren Koole, Dave Polowick, and Bart Shepley - you guys are awesome! Thanks to the KMHA player volunteers also committed a lot of time to this program and set great examples for these kids. Thank you to KMHA Bantam players: Brady Garrow, Seth Henderson and Michael Vanek who participated full-time as well as Caden Basso, Patrick Wilcox and Cal Polowick who helped out. Great job guys.
Keep playing hockey, have fun and keep smiling! We will miss seeing everyone on Monday nights.
