AMAZING GAME
Wow what an exciting game for the 2nd week in a row!! Who says HL Hockey isn't fun to watch? As I watched this game, a few things jumped out at me. 1-Our Defensive Core is prob the best in the league, while they are very responsible in our own end they all can carry the puck up ice and add an extra body to our more than capable forwards. 2-We have the best passers so far this year which leads to us getting more offensive chances. 3-Goaltending can make a huge difference between a win and a loss!
In this awesome game we managed a lot of chances on the other teams goalie and boy did he make some amazing saves, flashing a very good glove on a partial breakaway by Cam Pickford, who had the top corner pegged for a goal!! Finally after 20 mins of scoreless hockey Eli Jobin jumped on the puck and broke the tie by banging one in the net. Carson Hathaway matched the other goalie's performance and made huge saves and never getting out of position. As the 2nd period was winding down they managed to get one in our net and we entered the 3rd period tied again. At the 10 minute mark they slid one in our net. Again some great chances by our forwards (Breydon Lumley, Owen Fisher, Brayden Badder, Adrien Matoshi, Jason Lee) were all stopped by their netminder. Then as the clock was ticking down to under 2 mins and we were getting ready to pull our goalie, Jake Legue slid a pass to Brayden Charbonneau, who buried it to tie the game!!!! As the clock was running out, they broke into our end and Carson came up huge, taking a hard shot off the helmet in the dying seconds of the game. Our D-Men, which we only used 3 for the entire game, played amazing even though they had no points to show for it.
