Opening Weekend
The Kent Minor Atom AA hockey team opened their season with a pair of hard fought road losses.
Game one on Friday night, the Cobras visited the Belle River Canadiens and jumped out to an early 3-1 lead in the first period thanks to 2 goals by Brody Hope and 1 by Elliot Crow. A late surge by Belle River and an empty net goal resulted in a 5-3 loss. In the loss, Anderson Agar faced lots of rubber while keeping the Cobras in the game.
On Saturday night, the Cobras travelled to Tecumseh to face the Eagles. The game was a back and forth affair with the Eagles scoring late in the 3rd period on a powerplay giving them a 6-5 win. Brody Hope continued his hot weekend with 2 more goals, while Jackson Liberty, Damon Tope and Landon Larouche also scored.
The Cobras next game is Sunday September 16 at 3:20 pm in Windsor versus Riverside.
