2018-19 Age Groupings
Submitted By Martin Steele on Tuesday, May 08, 2018
As part of Hockey Canada’s age group restructuring, Kent Minor Hockey is changing the age groups as follows for the development years:

Initiation (4,5,6 year old)

Tyke (7 year old only)

Novice - (8 year old only)

These changes also will change the way games & practices are conducted.

1. Game play for 2012-and-2013-born players (5-and-6-year old) in the 2018-2019 season is to be cross-ice.

2. Game play for 2011-born players (7-year-olds) in the 2018-2019 season is to be half-ice.

3. In the 2019-2020 season Novice will play half ice till the end of Dec.

Kent Minor Hockey will be using these guidelines for the upcoming season.

We will provide more information as soon as possible.  The KMHA is working closely with Hockey Canada & the OMHA and will have more details to follow.
