Canadiens vs Flyers
Flight of the Phoenix

This is a tale of a ravishing bird engulfed in fire.  Born in the Garden of Paradise and perched in the Tree of Knowledge.  This glorious creature is scorched by the Sun God and reborn from its ashes to spread its wings and soar freely, blazed in fire as it lights the sky, every 500 years.

Again, this is a tale of one team overcoming the scorching of a 1st period blaze of fire, wreaking havoc on anything lingering in its path.  Two teams, brave and strong, challenging each other to the very end.  The Canadiens and Flyers, intertwined in an epic battle, with only one team soaring to the skies.
The 1st period controlled by the Feisty Flyers, their dominant presence echoed throughout the arena as they lit up the ice with thunderous force.  Netminder Noah Coatsworth skated to bench, beaten and battered, after a 2nd puck sizzled its way to the back of the net (courtesy of Aiden Spafford) giving the Flyers a 2 goal lead.  Reassurance and confidence from Coach Suitor lifted Noah as he repositioned himself in his crease to finish off the wrath of the final minutes, to end the 1st period.
The 2nd period was the luminous birth of the fabled Phoenix as the determined Canadiens, reborn from the adversity of the 1st period, burst out in flames to execute the period with 3 goals and 3 assists. Protege's of the Phoenix: Brandon, Zachary, Brysen, Griffin and Jonathon soared across the ice lifting the Canadiens to end the 2nd period with a 3-2 lead over the Flyers.
The flames burned strong within the Canadiens as the 3rd period unfolded, proving that the Bird of Paradise was anything short of a myth.  Almost midway into the 3rd, the beast unleashed 2 flaming pucks (7 seconds apart), as they raced like meteors, finding their way into the back of the oppositions net.  Goals by Brandon and Parker with an assist from Brady, proved to be formidable for the Phoenix.  Giving the Canadiens a 5-2 lead with 10 minutes left to play.  But, the Flyers were not about to be intimidated by this Bird of Legend. Armor of metal and swords of ice, they were determined to relinquish the flame that set ablaze to their army.  Then came the charge of the resilient soldiers disguised in orange, proving themselves a force of reckoning, as Riley Countryman speared the nest of the mighty Phoenix.  Now, the Canadiens led 5-3 and the Flyers had a taste of revenge as they came back charging for more.  Realizing the power unleashed by the soldiers in orange, the Fabled Phoenix turned and embraced the Sun God as it stretched out its wings and engulfed the wrath brought forth by these rejuvenated soldiers.  Finally, the chapter in this tale has come to an end and the battle with it as the  Legendary Phoenix returned to its Tree of Knowledge to build its nest and set itself ablaze, only to rise from its ashes again and embrace the next challenge ahead.
But still, before its sacrifice to the Sun God, the Phoenix looked down atop its Tree of Knowledge and bowed its head with respect to the soldiers in orange below.
Great job by the Flyers players and coaching staff, and an awesome job by the Canadiens and their coaching staff for an exceptional team effort and bond.
