On December 9th the Minor Peewee Teksavvy Cobra’s
joined forces with the Chatham Goodfellow’s in the annual “No Child without a
Christmas” event. The kids joined
together along with roughly 100 other local volunteers to pack boxes with gifts
destined for deserving children through Chatham-Kent.
The team had a great experience splitting into small groups and picking toys, stuffed animals, and books for kids so they have gifts to open on Christmas Day. As one player said, “it makes me feel good to help other kids.” In their excitement the team packed 28 boxes of toys giving just over 50 kids a Christmas to remember.
A special thanks to the Goodfellows for putting on such a great event and allowing kids; who may not always see the need, to realize playing hockey is a privilege and some kids do not have the same opportunity.
The coaching staff is very proud to call this young group of boys and girls their team.
