Christmas Miracle for Leafs
Today the Leafs took on the Av's in a thrilling 8-8 tie.  This game had everything you could ask for in a hockey game, even a miracle.

One minute into the game Sawyer made a nice rush and opened the scoring for the Leafs.  Drew buried the second goal for the Leafs on a nice rebound off a shot by Mitchell.  Two minutes later Dakota scored a nice goal with assists going to Tyler and Brett.  Dakota scored her second, 30 seconds later with the assist going to Sawyer.  Six minutes into the game the Leafs were up 4-0.  The kids on the bench were already talking about a Leafs victory (with only one win this season who could blame them).  The Av's scored two goals before the end of the first making it 4-2 going into the second.  One minute into the second Sawyer scored again with a nice deke play around the Av's defender.  For the next period and a half the ice seemed tilted in the Av's favor.  The Av's scored six straight goals making it 8-5 with only four minutes to play in the third.  The Leafs were down and shocked as they watched their lead disappear and found themselves with a three goal deficit.  Kayden was doing his best in net but the Leafs just could not slow the Av's down.
Just as a player on the bench said "we can't get three goals in three minutes" a miracle happened.  Drew buried a rebound off an Abby shot.  Twenty-one seconds later Drew completed the hat trick with a beautiful solo effort driving out of the corner.  Eleven seconds later Abby fired home a rebound from Sawyer tying up the game.  The Leafs had just scored three goals in forty-two seconds.  Both teams had chances in the last couple of minutes but the score remained 8-8.
Drew took home the game MVP for his heroics today.
Remember Leafs don't ever give up, in Hockey or in anything else.  Have a good Holiday... Go Leafs Go.
