Leafs Play Well in Loss to Pens
After a long Christmas break the Leafs were finally all back together again with the exception of Brett and were looking forward to their game Saturday against the Pens.  When George and Tyler came strolling into the dressing room Owen couldn't have been happier.  The Leafs were back and ready to play some hockey.

Down by one early in the first the Leafs tied up the game on a sweet shot by Carter, the assist went to Sawyer.  Both teams battled hard and had their chances but it was the Pens who were leading after the first period 2-1.  Sawyer tied up the game with a breakaway goal early in the second period.  The Pens answered a minute later and once again were leading the contest.  The Pens made it 4-2 early in the third period on a rebound goal.  Kayden was a rock in net and turned away many Pen chances keeping it close.  Half way through the third period Mitchell passed the puck to Tyler in the Leafs own end.  Tyler skated up the boards with the puck blowing by every Pen defender on the ice, cutting in front of the goalie and buried the puck into the net on a backhand shot.  This is arguably the nicest goal scored by anyone this season.  The Leafs pressed hard the remainder of the game but fell to the Pens 6-3.  Tyler took home the game MVP for his great defensive and offensive efforts today.  Again the coaches were impressed with what we saw the Leafs do as a team.  Players forced the play out of their end, held the puck in the Pens zone, and were going to the net with their sticks on the ice.  Keep working hard Leafs, but more importantly keep having fun.  Go Leafs.
