U15C Cobras Win 2023 Chatham Regional Silver Stick
The Kent U15C Cobras win the 2023 Chatham Regional Silver Stick Tournament
The team finished first in round robin, with a 3-1 record.
Friday's games were played to perfection, winning 13-0 vs the Riverside Rangers, and 9-0 vs the Haldimand River Kings.
Saturday they started the day with a 3-2 loss to the St. Catherines Falcons. They rebounded well defeating the Strathroy Jr Rockets 7-1.
Sunday's Semi-Final was a match-up against their Bluewater rivals, the Talbot Trail Blazers. The Cobras battled to a 3-1 victory to secure their spot in the championship game.
The Championship game saw a rematch from Saturday nights game against the Strathroy Jr Rockets. The Rockets came ready to play with a scoreless first period. The Cobras opened the scoring 1-0, but Strathroy answered back to equalize the game 1-1 before the end of the 2nd. Kent scored the eventual game winner with 7 Minutes left, and added an insurance empty netter to secure the title.
The Kent Cobras will move on to the U15C Silver Stick Finals in Forest, Jan 5-7, 2024.
