Game 8 vs. The Rangers
More fun than you can shake a stick at!
Today the
Sharks took on the Rangers and the game was well worth the price of admiss..um..er….
well it was one of the closest and most fun games of the season. Both teams did
an amazing job in every position and at every area of the ice. The game went
scoreless for almost the entire 1st period which is a testament to
both teams defence and goaltenders. Sean of the Rangers drew first blood around
the 2 minute mark in the first which was quickly answered by Kalib who converted
on a pass from Ryan. The Second period was another clinic by the defence and
goalies as the tie wouldn’t be broken until the 2 minute mark again, this time
it was the Rangers’ Karter with a breakaway goal. Of course the lead wouldn’t
last long as Kalib took a feed from Colin and made what I would call the
greatest goal of the season. I still don’t know how he did it, but somehow
standing nearly behind and off to the side of the net he was able to go roof
daddy with enough power that he would have destroyed a water bottle if it was
sitting on the top of the net. Unfortunately the Rangers shortly took the lead
again and padded it with goals by Aiden and “Crash” Goulet. Even with the lead
pretty solid there was no quit on the Sharks bench as everyone was fired up to
get back on the ice. Logan
got us within 1 with a helper from Max at the 4 minute mark of the 3rd and the Sharks
could smell blood in the water. With a minute left in the Game Williem was
pulled in favour of an extra skater (Max) who wanted the puck so bad he nearly
killed himself along the end boards to get it. (QUICK UPDATE: Max seemed fine
after the game and I haven’t heard how Karter is doing yet. hopefully both are
going to be able to play this afternoon.) The shots came fast and furious but
Carson N stood on his head to preserve the win for the Rangers. A great game
indeed!
This was
one of the best games I have seen from the entire defensive corps, Gabe, Bryson, Lydia,
Sawyer and Zach great work out there guys. And as for Williem our goaltender
you looked outstanding out there not only did you make some huge saves..You did
it with style.. Looking good buddy (really loved the big toe save)
The Sharks
next game in on the road in the friendly confines of the RBC Arena in Sarnia Ontario
where we will take on a Solid Flyers team. I can’t wait this is going to be a
blast
