The Kent Atom AE Cobras recently completed 3 exhibition games in preparation for their final weekend of the year. The team will be participating in the Detroit Michigan Motown Cup on March 28-30.
Game #1 vs Southpoint Major A Capitals
The Cobras were able to shake some rust off after being eliminated from OMHA playoffs against Burlington. With Garrett Drew racing to the bench, Tyler Pink took a pass from BigBIrd Chickowski with under a minute to play to tie the game 3-3. Other scoring came from Briden Gebal G(1), Nick Martin G(1), Cam Knotek A(1), Cole Tetreault A(1). The Sniper player of the game was the fiercest Gerbal on the ice!
Game #2 vs Southpoint Major A Capitals
Game #2 solved nothing as the teams skated to a 1-1 tie. Once again in dramatic fashion, the tactical coaching move of pulling the goalie in the final minute of play worked in the Cobra’s favour. Nick Martin (off the bench) notched his 50th goal of the season. Logan Miller played a solid goal in net. The Sniper player of the game was defensive star Aiden Peel.
Game #3 vs Port Huron Major Flags
Could it happen 3 games in row? A strategic goalie pulled tying goal? No ah ah!! The Cobras lost to Port Huron 4-1 in a chippy battle on home ice. Garrett Drew had another strong outing in goal and Aiden Peel picked up the lone Cobra goal with a wrister from the point. Kodie Gaffan was the Sniper star of the game.
Motown Cup
The Cobras are pooled with the Riverside Minor A Rangers, Blenheim Atom Bruins, and the Kalamazoo Major K-Wings. Go Cobras!!!
