Cobras Go 0-3-1 in Pickering
The Kent MInor Bantam Cobras were only able to squeak out a single point in their recent trip east of Toronto.

On Friday in game one the Cobras gave up a heart-breaking short-handed goal with only 12 seconds left on the clock to settle for a 1-1 tie with Georgina Lake Simcoe.  The lone Kent scorer was Notah Hopkins with assists coming from Tadhg Copeland and Martin Boughner.  Connor O’Donohue had a strong game in net.

On Friday night the Cobras were defeated by the eventual tournament champions, Rideau St. Lawrence Kings by a score of 2-1.  Owen Lemieux stoned the King’s attack throughout the match.  The lone Cobra goal came from Notah Hopkins with assists going to Martin Boughner and Caleb Tryon.

On Saturday the team was defeated 4-0 by the Goulding Park Rangers from North York.  Connor O’Donohue was the losing netminder.

The Cobras still had a chance to make the playoffs if they could defeat New Market Saturday evening.  The boys went out to a quick 2-0 lead but gave up 3 unanswered goals before the final buzzer blew. Kent goal scorers were Caleb Tryon and Ian Campbell.  Assists were given to Will McCracken, Reid Goodburn and Adam Ross.  Owen Lemieux had the goaltending duties.

The Cobras will next see tournament action in Detroit’s Nations Cup over the American Thanksgiving weekend.

This weekend the boys will travel to the WFCU to face Riverside Friday night and host Lasalle on Sunday in Tilbury.
