Game 4, Return of the King!
Game 4 vs the Leafs.

The Rangers had the task of playing against the Leafs today.  The Leafs have some strong goal scorers on that team, so we knew we had to play well defensively and score some goals early in the game.

Even before this game began, the Rangers were excited to play as we all excitedly, awaited the return of our assistant captain, Lucas Kirchner.

Game highlights.
  • Strong effort and play was noted from the Lucas Kirchner, Noah Wilson and Asher line.  Asher was the first forward this season to attempt a breakout from our own end.  All of the coaches are so proud of you Asher!
  • Chemistry continues to develop with the Williem Seguin, Kaleb Wilson, and Victor Everitt line.  This line produced many hard shots, and scoring opportunities.  Williem Seguin may have made one of the best passes I have seen all year by drawing 2 Leaf forwards to him at mid ice and then flipping the puck to the side where Kaleb Wilson took it in for a breakaway.  Also, Victor continues to be one of our strongest skaters and is learning where to go in most offensive opportunities.  2 hands on the stick Victor, 2 hands!
  • Aiden V was also very impressive.  He played like a true assistant captain today and made several gorgeous passes to his line-mates Noah Wilson and Carter Evans.
  • Carter Evans had his best game of the year, to date.  Carter got better every time he went on the ice.  He skated hard and created scoring chances for himself.  He took more shots then he has ever taken and chased his rebounds.  I was extremely proud of the effort and potential that was demonstrated by Carter during this game.  I cannot count how many times I looked at coach Dale to say how impressed I was with Carter!  Keep it up buddy!
  • Ethan Vandermeersch and Ethan Crow continue to provide strong defence for the Rangers.  Ethan Vandermeersch continues to anchor the defence and saved countless scoring chances by keeping the puck inside the Leaf blue line.  Ethan Crow continues to amaze me with his understanding of positioning.  Ethan doesn't chase the puck, he goes to where he thinks it may go.  He covers the front of the net in our end and uses the boards well while trying to get the puck out of our end. Awesome work!
  • Aiden Solway.  Wow, what can I say?  Aiden Solway has become such a strong defenceman for the Rangers. Aiden has improved each game and is consistently doing things right.  Aiden has so much potential and is developing faster then we all could have imagined!
  • The entire defence of Ethan C, Ethan V, Memphis, Aiden S, Devon W continue to improve and I think a large part of that, if not all if it, come from the awesome coaching and direction they are receiving from Coach Jeff!  Great job coach Jeff.
  • Devon Wilson and Memphis are both continuing to improve and are putting forth a lot of effort.  Memphis took one face-off as reward for his hard work and won the face-off!  He now has the highest face-off winning percentage in the league!
  • Kassidy Tear played exceptional once again.  While Kassidy did not have many shots this game, every shot she did take on was a tough one.  The Rangers are very fortunate to have such great goaltending.  Kassidy gives the Rangers a chance to win each game!  On a side note, I was approached by the Edmonton Oilers about Kassidy's availability! I told them she is not available, she's a Ranger!

Points.
2 goals scored by Willien Seguin.
2 goals scored by Aiden V.
1 goal scored by Kaleb Wilson.
1 assist from Lucas Kirchner.
1 assist from Noah Wilson.
1 assist from Carter Evans.

Awesome job Rangers.  Monday we practice hard and prepare for another tough game against the Flyers.
