Jan 11 vs Team Red
Game 1 of the Playoffs was a great game to build on! There was great pressure along with fabulous defence in an whole team effort!

Period 1 was a great example of how Team Black has developed through the regular season. There was great pressure in the offensive zone and our defence pairings were clearing the puck well and holding the blue line! Both team teams traded chances in the first with goalies at both ends making great saves to keep the game scoreless through most of the period. Then at 1:25 Gabe broke the scoreless tie with an assist from Aiden! It was a fabulous start to our first game of the playoffs against the first ranked team of the Regular Season.
The 2nd Period saw a continuation of the same back and forth game with our boys doing a great job especially on defence considering we were short two regular D-men! It was not until 3:55 that the opposition managed to tie the game with a deflection into the top corner. The excitement continued as Gabe rang one off the post at 1:35! So close!
The 3rd period saw the opposition pour it on hard and we pushed back just as intensely! Team Red took the lead at 13:45 when a shot was chipped over Roman's pad after making a save down low and then they added another on a break away at at 12:41. But once again our team dug in and shut down the opposition for most of the remaining period! Not until 2:49 left did Red go up 4-1. Nothing however got our boys down as they kept fighting back to add a second goal of the game when Porter got the puck over to Aiden at 1:02!
Player of the game was Carson Colders on Defence! Carson did an amazing job in this game as he cleared the puck out of the zone numerous times, showed great hustle to fight for the puck and made some very smart pinches in the offensive zone without going too deep and giving up the blue-line!
This was a great game for our team with everybody working hard to clear the puck from in of the net, getting out of the zone with clean break-out passes, tremendous pressure in the offensive zone and smart defensive play. We may have come up a little short on the scoreboard, but our team outplayed the opposition for most of the game and showed intensity through all three periods!
Congratulations to all Team Black Players for an incredibly exciting start to the Playoffs!
Keep up the great work Team Black!
