Game 8 vs The Kings.. We hit turbulence!
Back to our regularly scheduled program, we had nearly a full roster again. Aiden was MIA this week so we decided to go with 3 full forward lines and 2.5 lines of defense.
The talk in the dressing room continued to focus on making decisions on the ice and following through. We also wanted to focus on keeping our feet moving.
The first 2 periods were executed pretty effectively on the defensive side of things, however at the other end of the ice we were faced with the same determination from the King's defense. We were unable to generate any exceptional scoring chances. Unfortunately the Red Wings blinked first and allowed the Kings to take a 1-0 lead for most of the first 2 periods. As the game was getting closer to completion the Kings were able to add a few insurance markers and we continued to struggle offensively. The final was 4-0 and in the end we can only attribute this loss to solid defense from the Kings, and a lack of ability to keep up with their speed.
Our player of the game went to Gordon Bradley for his exceptional work as the anchor on defense this game.
We are off this weekend and only have practices for the rest of December. I hope everyone will do their best to be at the practices to keep the rust off. Until then..
