Back To Work: Happy New Year and welcome back.
The last week was an
eventful one and now that the dust of Christmas, a boxing day practice, an
exhibition game a 3 day Tournament and New Year’s has settled and is in the rearview mirror we
can get back to work, well.. some of us can..
We will be a little light on the roster for Saturday’s game vs The Predators as Coach Bryan and Brady will be south, Coach Jacob and Kalib will be East and Myself and Zach will be south-east. I understand Christian will be on a mini-vacation as well.
I want to extend a thank you to all the parents and players that made participating in the John Henry Memorial Tournament possible. While we may not have put up a favorable record, it was interesting to see how we stack up against other teams in our age group (we were up 3-1 in the last 5 of game 1 that resulted in a 4-3 loss and the other 2 games were far from blowouts) . I want to acknowledge a few players from other teams that helped fill out our roster - From the AtoMc Flyers: Gabe Legue, Bryson Davis and Owen Guerreri (who filled in for games 2 and 3 on very short notice), from the Novice Avalanche Colin Day who scored the first goal of the tourney for us and showed that he is going to be a force to be reckoned with when he gets to Atom. I think everyone could agree that Brady was our player of the tournament by making unbelievable save after unbelievable save.
We have a few weeks to tighten up positionally before the playoffs start and that’s what we intend to do over the next few practices. I want to wish the entire AtoMc Red Wings team good luck this weekend and have fun.
