Game 1 vs Tecumseh 1, Sept 20
2 weeks after tryouts, we had our first game!

The Novice AE2 team had the tough task of playing the Tecumseh 1 team.

From the very beginning of this game, the coaches were extremly impressed with the overall effort and organization that the team displayed.  In the short time we have had to get ready for this game, the kids showed that they have listened in practice and were ready to go!

Quick game notes.

* Both Kayden and Noah C spent some time in net.  Both played very well and did a great job defending the net.  Both Kayden and Noah made some huge saves for us!!!

* Defense played very well and worked really hard at clearning the defensive zone while using the boards and keeping the puck away from the middle.  Memphis played very well and used his speed to keep Tecumseh in front of him.  Bradley (Oicks) and Brayden did a fantastic job clearning the zone and not letting anyone in behind them.  Jayden Baylis was an absolute beast.  Jayden played fearlessly and had an excellent game.  He kept the defender in front of him and covered the front of the net well.

*Forwards also played well.  Noah W and Sean put on a great display of effort and speed.  Both of these skaters have the potential to blow by defenses, and I think by the end of the game they began to relize that!  Connor had some fancy stick handling and did a great job at moving the puck forward.  Connor also had some great passing plays with Noah and Sean.  Reese put his all-out effort and smooth skating on display.  Reese played quite well and worked very hard in both ends of the ice.  Isaac showed us a very defensive side to his game and quickly emerged as a potential defenseman for this team.  Isaac also played a fantastic game and never gave up.  Gregory, in his first travel game, displayed heart and effort.  Gregory never gave up and skated hard every shift.  Way to go Gregory!

Overall, the team played quite well and showed a tremendous amount of potential.  The coaches, are extremly proud of ther effort you all put forth and are looking forward to having fun and improving every time we step out on the ice.

PLAYER OF THE GAME:  JAYDEN BAYLIS.  What can I say, Jayden was a beast!!! Way to go Jayden...

Coach Anthony.
