Games 2,3, & 4.
This weekend, the boys played Belle River 2, LaSalle 1 and LaSalle 2.

This weekend, the boys played the Belle River Canadians 2, LaSalle Sabres 1, and LaSalle Sabres 2. 3 games, lots of skating. We knew this was going to be a tough weekend and that we were going to have to work hard. And, to no surprise, the boys worked very hard and impressed a lot of people, especially us coaches!

Game Notes.

• Both Kayden and Noah Coatsworth stood on their heads during this games. Both goalies made several huge saves that gave the Cobras a chance to turn each game around. Both Kayden and Noah are playing quite well and making key saves when we need them to step up. Kayden made some huge glove saves this weekend and Noah made some outstanding kick saves. Wow! My hats off to both Kayden and Noah for their excellent work this weekend.
Captain, Bradley “Oicks,” Oickle played very well defensively and did a super job at clearing the defensive end. During game 3, Oicks became the first defenseman to do an end to end rush!! I have a feeling that as Oicks gets more comfortable, he is going to be a force to be reckoned with. Keep up the great work Oicks.
Memphis continues to rise to the level of play on the ice. Memphis is a superb skater and is recognizing that he has the ability to be a very strong defenseman. Memphis also did a great job of clearing the defensive zone while using the boards. Great work Memphis.
Gregory Ansell played his first game on defense Friday and put in a solid effort. Gregory is a good skater and will quickly become comfortable with this new role. Gregory found himself in key spots at certain points in the game and did a great job at clearing the puck. Awesome effort Gregory. (I am working on practice socks for you pal!!!)
Jayden Baylis is a monster on the ice. Jayden plays hard and will not quit. His effort is noted and appreciated by the entire team. Jayden has a knack for being in the right spot and makes things happen! After a move to forward, Jayden continued with the same all-out effort and created quite a few chances for us. Jayden plays very well with Brayden!
Isaac Cook played his first game on defense today. Much like Jayden, Isaac plays like he is 6”4, 235 pounds! Isaac does not give up on the ice and is noticeable becoming more comfortable and confident. At one point during the third game, Isaac got the puck and skated it up the ice before banking it off the boards. Look for Isaac to be a leader on the ice by mid-year! Keep up the great work Isaac.
Brayden is becoming a monster on forward. Brayden works very hard and never gives up. He created many scoring chances and had quite a few breakaways. Brayden has also begun working on his back checking which will be very important to this team as we continue to work on our defense. Very impressed with your hard work Brayden, great job!
Connor also had a great weekend. Connor has great hands and a good shot. Connor continues to help create chances and managed to score his first goal of the season while also recording an assist on Sean’s first goal. Connor is working hard every game and will continue to develop into an offensive machine.
Reese recognized that he is a fast skater this weekend, especially in that third game when he really began to back check. Reese was skating as hard as he could and catching up to people that had 8 to 10 steps on his. In addition to that, Reese helps to create opportunity with his effort and has become a solid forward for us.
Noah Wilson has become a strong forward. He is a fast skater with good hands. Noah is skating hard every shift and helping to create opportunity. He has found some chemistry working on a line with Sean and Connor. Noah finished the weekend scoring his first goal and assisting on Connor’s first goal. Awesome work Noah!
Sean has become a beast on forward. He is working as hard as he can every shift and, with Connor and Noah, have created many scoring chances. Sean is working hard on his back checking as well and demonstrated to the team on Saturday that with speed and effort, we can play awesome defense. Sean was at the LaSalle’s blue line and caught a LaSalle player who went on to a breakaway. Sean hustled and forced the player to shoot wide!!! Awesome!

Overall, every played so well and did a super job. Positional; we are playing much better and are also beginning to spend more time in the opposing teams end. Keep up the great work guys!!!

Player of the game:
Friday September 26: Brayden.

Saturday September 27: Kayden (Mr. Frashey!!!)

Sunday September 28: Connor.

Awesome work everyone.
Coach Anthony.
