Game 16
This weekend the AE2 Cobra's played just one game, and it was a good game at that.

This week the cobra's played on Friday in Belle River, against the Belle River Canadiens 1.  This had the makings to be a good game, and I think that it delivered.

As the game started, the cobra's remained consistent and came out slow.  I think there is a feeling out period where we sit back a bit and see what the other team is going to bring?  Or, at least that is how I see it!
Belle River came out strong and spent a good portion on the first period in our zone.  Then, in the second period, and staying true to the determination and character of this team, we began to bounce back.  All of the Belle River goals were answered from goals by Kayden K-Mart Lovell, Sean Rocky Mallett, and Noah Sniper Wilson.

The Cobra's were flat for most of this game, but did not quit.  And hey, they can't be rock solid every game.
The great thing about this team is that everyone works well with eachother and recognizes that alone, we will never achieve what we may as a team.

The coaches and I are all very proud of the effort put forth by the Cobra's.  Way to go AE2!

Some quick notes:

*Kayden Fraseh battled the puck a bit in this game, but never gave up.  He tried hard all game and kept us alive when it really mattered.  This is the sign of maturation and development of a good goalie!
*Noah Weapon Coatsworth had a strong game.  He played angles well and made some great saves.  This may have been one of the best performances we have seen from Noah.  Awesome work Noah.
*Bradley Oicks Oickle played a great game.  He, like many others struggled but never gave up.  The puck was bouncing on him and he had a hard time moving the puck out of the zone.  Oicks dug deep and gave it his all, and managed to finish the game strong!  Way to go captain.
*Jayden Monster Baylis is a coaches dream player.  He plays so hard every second he is on the ice.  If he is having an off game, you would never know it with the level of compete he brings to the table.  Additionally, Jayden prefers to play forward but has played defence for us because we really need him there.  Not once has he ever complained!  Awesome team work Jayden!!!
*Gregory Ansell had quite a good game.  Gregory worked hard to be in the right spot at the right time and did a great job clearing the puck from our end.  The highlight for gregory came within the last minute of the game when Belle River pressed hard to put the winning goal in net, the Belle River got past our defender and all I saw was a diving Gregory knock the puck to the puck away and to the side of the net.  This may have been one of Gregory's finest plays.  He may not relize it, but he probably saved us from losing that game with that big play. Way to go Gregory!
*Isaac Izzy Cook worked hard and did a great job at clearing the puck from our end.  Isaac continues to improve every game and is evidently, more confident!  Isaac has worked hard all year and it is truly paying off!  Way to go Isaac!
*Kayden Kmart Lovell became an even more dominant defenceman in this league.  Kayden has become more and more confident and that is evident in the amount of rushes he attempts and the results he gets from them.  When Kayden gets caught in a rush, he works hard to come back and in most cases, is the first one back.  Kayden will continue to become a dominant force on the blueline for the cobra's.  Way to go Kmart!!!
*Brayden Hoss DeHaas has become a star!  Brayden has the same type of compete level as Jayden and is a sponge for learning.  Brayden will listen to everything the coaches have to say and will give any requests an honest effort.  Hoss is also one of the hardest working forwards and produces so many opportunities just by
hard work alone.  Look for the Hoss to continue being a stud on the offensive side!!!  Awesome work Hoss.
*Memphis Peatson was ill this game, but did give it his all.  It is very hard to skate when you are having difficulty moving because you have the flu.  Memphis, to his credit, did not want to sit when I offered him the chance to.  Memphis is becoming a great forward and with his smooth skating ability, will become dominant!
*Dakota Marchand continues to win faceoffs and is becoming more of an offensive weapon.  She is finding many chances and positionally, she seems to have gotten that down pat.  Dakota is also a hard working forward and does a great job at leading by example.  Way to go Dakota!
*Ashton Dangles Lovell continues to be a dominant forward and produces many chances every game.  He continues to find comfort and chemisrty playing on a line with Sean and Noah.  Ashton, like most of us this game, came out of the gate slow but really worked hard to bounce back.  Ashton worked hard to back check and helped to improve the defence during this game.  Way to go Dangles!
*Noah Sniper Wilson continues to be a work horse on the ice.  Noah has blazing speed and uses it to his advantage.  He works well with Ashton and Sean and continues to play good positional hockey.  Way to go Nator! Lastly, As I am very proud of all the kids on this team, I often find myself leaving out my own son.  So, Noah, Coach Daddy is very proud of you!!!
*Sean Rocky Mallette works hard everytime on the ice.  He has heart and plays like he is trying to win a stanley cup!  Sean put in a nice goal that came through hard work.
*Reese Churchy Church.  Us coaches all agreed that Churchy has unlimited untapped potential.  Churchy also works very hard every game and is a great skater.  Churchy played very well in this game and did his part to help us win.  I am seeing a little more confidence from Churchy every game and believe that sooner rather then later, he is going to have a huge breakout game!  Us coaches, are all very proud of the way churchy has been playing and are looking forward to even more development.
*Mitchell Loveday also continues to devleop.  Over the last few games I have seen Mitchell work on moving his feet more and while making a stronger effort at back checking.  Mitchell has great hands and is finding chemistry on a line with Memphis.  Look for Mitchell to be a dominant goal scorer in the near future!  Way to go Mitchell.

*Absent and missed was Connor Graham.

Overall, I feel like a broken record, but I am so very proud of every player on this team.  I think that together, we have the ability to surprise a lot of people.

Way to go Cobra's!!!
